The commune of Ciugud is hosting, on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, 2022, the first edition of the “Rafting Festival”, an event that aims to promote the traditions and ethnographic values of the Mureș River Basin.
For two days, the organizers aim to revive the tradition of rafting, one of the oldest occupations of people from the towns along the Mureș River, the central point of the event being the historical reconstruction of the “Salt Road between Ciugud and Alba Iulia (the ancient port of Partoș)”. The program will also include local gastronomy, and participants will be invited to taste fish dishes prepared according to old recipes, in an ancient gastronomy workshop.
