Important event 27-28 October 2023 Alba Iulia

In Alba Iulia at the National Museum of Unification, PRINCIPIA Museum, will be held a Round Table on the theme:

The significance of this event lies in the fact that steps are being taken to prepare the dossier to be submitted to UNESCO for inclusion in the World Intangible Heritage of the “Indeletnicirii plutaritului in Romania”.

Besides the important guests, Dr. Frank Thiel, President of the International Association of Pluteologists, will be present.

Friday 27.10.2023

11.00 – 11.15

Meeting of delegations at the National Museum of Unification in Alba Iulia;

11.15 am

Visit of the museum exhibits attesting the ancient antiquity of Plutarch in Dacia and the Parthian Port of Alba Iulia;

12.00 noon

Participation in the military parade offered by the Alba Iulia Fortress Guard;

12.30 pm

Departure of the participants to the Alba Iulia landing stage / Inn with Berze platform in the Parthian Port;

1.30 pm

Traditional meal with local beer and mulled wine (offered on rafts);

Departure by raft of the participants registered for the mini raft expedition from Debarcaderul in Alba Iulia – Partos to Martinutzzi Castle in Vintul de Jos;

Visit of the Alba Carolina Fortress for the participants who do not participate in the mini rafting expedition;

Pick up of the participants from the descent on the Mures River (by rafts) in Vintul de Jos and return to Alba Iulia at the Steaua Nordului Pension;

18.00

Meeting for a festive dinner with all the participants at the restaurant of the Steaua Nordului Pension in Alba Iulia (Str. Republicii, Nr. 5 A, Alba Iulia);

Saturday 28.10.2023

Meeting at the Principia Museum Space – Alba Iulia Fortress (opposite the 1 December 1918 University of Alba Iulia, near the Union Hall);

9.15 am

Welcome by the organizers: Gabriel – Codru – Plesa (Alba Iulia City Hall), Ion Dumitrel (Alba County Council) and Dorin Iancu (NGO Petro Aqua);

9.30 am

Greeting by the President of the International Association of Floaters: Dr. Frank Thille – Germany;

Presentation related to the adhesion to the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage of the 6 European countries (Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Austria and Latvia), an action initiated and carried out through the involvement of the International Association of Plutualists for the “Enlightenment of Plutualism”, which was accepted by the vote of the Intergovernmental Committee of the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Rabat Conference on December 1st 2022;

10.00 a.m.

Presentation of the paper “The Roman port of Partos and the river divinities of Apullum” – Researcher St. Radu Ciobanu and Dr. Ing. Dorin Iancu;

Presentation of the first edition of the book “Testimonies of the Practice of Plutarch in Transylvania in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Modern Period” Prof. Anghel Gheorge and Prof. Viorica Suciu;

Speech by the representative of the Romanian Academy –

Speech by the representative of the Ministry of Culture –
